1. After being greeted, please sign in first thing by filling out your volunteer sheet in the alphabetized volunteer notebook.
2. A name tag must be worn at all times.
3. Always wash hands before you put on gloves and each time you take them off. Wash hands often if you are working in the kitchen, especially after blowing nose, sneezing, coughing, etc. Washing station located in kitchen.
4. When serving behind the buffet line, make sure you are wearing gloves, hair net and an apron. It is your responsibility to clean up your station after lunch is served.
5. We expect all volunteers to act respectfully, exhibit good behavior and positive attitudes while working at Lunch Break. You will be asked by a staff member to leave with no option to return if we see inappropriate behavior.
6. You are required to keep confidential any information you hear, see or touch re: personal Lunch Break matters.
7. Clean, proper attire should to be worn, nothing revealing. Sneakers are strongly recommended. No open-toed shoes or sandals. No pocket books.
8. No jewelry should to be worn while working at Lunch Break. Jewelry such as bracelets, neck chains and large dangling earrings if caught on something can cause personal injury.
9. If you have diarrhea, an upset stomach or a cold/flu, please go home and come back when you are feeling better.
10. Please report any injuries sustained while volunteering at Lunch Break immediately to a staff person.
11. Please do not perform any tasks if you are physically not able to or have been restricted by your doctor. Example: heaving lifting, climbing stairs, etc.
12. Volunteers are able to request food from the pantry, clothing and any other service provided by Lunch Break. Please see Gwen or George to complete the necessary paperwork first.
13. If you believe you’ve witnessed or been the target of any inappropriate behavior (theft, lewdness, excessive profanity, aggression, etc.) please report it to a staff person.
14. Before you leave, please sign out. Fill out your volunteer sheet and count your total hours and divide them by activity. Take off your name tag, store it in one of the name tag boxes and leave your plastic cover in the top drawer. Thank you.
