Cooking Classes

Children’s Cooking Class, Tuesdays 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

The 5-week Children’s Cooking course teaches children ages 6-12 the basics and the fun of preparing healthy meals.

The course is taught by Maria Arnao, a self-taught Southern Italian cook who believes that showing children how to prepare meals encourages them to try new things. She believes “we all eat with our eyes,” so it’s important to see what makes a meal.

Maria worked in her family’s upper east side New York restaurant and says her mother was the best cook she ever knew.  She is a culinary arts teacher at Monmouth Career Center in Freehold, where high school students are offered real world restaurant training.

One of the best parts of the Lunch Break class is that the meal the children prepare is served to the clients the following day. It might be Shepherd’s Pie, Jambalaya, or Chicken Savoy.

Want to register your children? Who knows, after a few weeks they might be making dinner for YOU!

If you or someone you know needs assistance please contact Lunch Break at 732-747-8577. There is never a fee for the services we provide.
