How to Organize a Food Drive
Thank you for your interest in helping Lunch Break by organizing a Food Drive. We are always in need of replenishing our food pantry shelves and every food drive is important to us in helping feed community members in need.
We will provide all the support you need. You can call 732 747-8577 or email us at email@example.com and we will answer your questions.
What to do
Get your family, friends and neigbors involved. Mobilize members of your church or synagogue, school or sport clubs. A food drive is much more effective and more fun, if you are not on your own.
Select the date(s) and location for the food drive. Plan the coordination for the pick up
A drive can be one specific day or several designated dates.
Designate a pre-approved location where the food will be collected. You must contact grocery stores well in advance for permission to hold a food drive at their locations.
Also plan how you pick up the collected food. We can provide you with crates for easy transport of the collected items.
Register your food drive
If you are over 18, please click here to register a food drive. If you are under the age of 18, parental permission is required to run a Food Drive. Print the Lunch Break Food Drive Registration Form, let your parent or guardian sign it and send it to Tyrone Burr, Pantry Manager.
By request, you will receive a written acknowledgement for community service hours upon completion of your food drive.
Promote your food drive
Promote your food drive in as many ways as possible. Send emails to friends and family, post it on your social media. Use the website of your church, business or organization. Get the food drive published on event websites as the local patch pages, like redbank.patch.com.
Plan for delivering your donation
We encourage you to bring your bagged or crated, non-perishable food items directly to the back door at Lunch Break. We are open Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 2:30pm. Saturdays from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Closed on Sundays.
